Sofiya Cheyenne

Sofiya is an associate consultant with a focus on access and inclusion at Penn Creative Strategy. With a personal connection to disability inclusion, she has advocated and consulted for many arts & culture organizations in New York City, including A.R.T. NY, Disney Theatrical Group, NYC Boroughs Councils on the Arts, Soho Repertory Theatre, and NYFA. Implementing strategy, auditing grant practices and shifting organizational culture. She has developed sensitivity and anti-bias, anti-ableism trainings as well as DEIA Retreats for numerous nonprofits including Berkshire Cultural Asset Network, Lifes WORC, ART NY and Little People Of America. She is also a public speaking advocate, who has participated in panels to teach advocacy and new language to organizations such as BRIC Arts Media, MAC, The Public, NJ Theatre Alliance, Statera Arts and many others. Sofiya has created social justice initiatives and devised theatre productions with educational nonprofits including, New Victory Theatre, EnACT, Girl Be Heard, Queens Theatre and EPIC Players.
Sofiya is the Inclusion Director of Little People of America, Co-Chair of The Dwarf Artist Coalition and part of the Access Advisory Council for ART NY and Disability Working Group with the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers. In all of her work she continually advocates for people of short stature and disabilities on and off the stage.
